I start with a light pencil outline, and lighter colors first. I work on the head, then move to the rest of the body.
Saving my "highlights" which will remain white paper, with no paint, I add more layers of paint, darker colors last.
Once the layers of background skin color are complete, I add the spots, details on the fins and tail.
Spots are finished, details and spots added to the tail. Erase all pencil lines and sign it!
I love an organized setting for a group lesson or workshop.
I have taught preschool to seniors, we all have an inner child who can create!
Try new techniques and push boundaries with paints, pencils, and pastels!
Art has always been a part of my life, drawing subjects that I love such as our pets, or beautiful landscapes in places that were special to me. Lately I have been inspired by the world of fishing in Montana...the fish and the flies that are carefully tied to lure them.
I have used many different mediums, such as acrylics, pencil, and pastels. I used to have a mural business, painting in both acrylic and house paint on large scale. Lately I am using watercolor most often. I have enjoyed the bright colors of pastels, and the fine detail of pencil.
I enjoy hiking, biking, and being on the rivers of Montana. I draw my inspiration from the environment around me, the light and shadows in nature, animals and birds. The natural world continues to amaze me every day.
